One remarkable Girl

Well, if I say one of the most admired women in my life was a nude model……..any question marks?? Well yes, plenty……at least, my friends would look confused……the rest of them, who doesn’t like me will go as far as telling public that I take a nude model as an example and maybe going to follow her footsteps. Well, yes, in a way I want to. But hey, that is NOT in the side of her profession. I do now want to be a nude model or at least a normal model who usually pose for newspapers.

So then, this leaves you all with a question. Why do I want to be a bit like her??? Well, it is an amazing story, and a fearsome one. But, as a girl who is going to live alone in the near future, it was indeed helpful.

Who is she? Well, her name is Lorraine Vigil. Little is known about her past, and even the present except that she used to be a secretary in some agency. She was trying her best to break into modeling, that she did undertake nude modeling as well, in order to get into the field.

One evening, Monday 27 October, Lorraine got a phone call from one of her friends who ran a modeling agency, asking her whether she would undertake a photographic assignment. She friend casually knew the photographer, who introduced himself as Frank Johnson, however, she warned Lorraine to be a bit careful. Lorraine, whose dream was to become a model, accepted the job. The photographer later picked her up from her flat at Wiltshire Boulevard. However, the car passed modeling studio on sunset strip, where the agency said the session would take place.

Lorraine pointed this out to the man, but he said that the venue has changed and the session will be held at studio in Anaheim, but he drove through Anaheim as well. The car drove through streets and stopped at a dark, dirty road in Tustin. To her horror, Lorraine realized the photographer was none other than the serial killer Harvey Glatman, who was terrorizing Los Angeles. He pulled out a gun and ordered her to keep quiet. His intentions were to tie her up with lengths of rope, tie her up, rape her and kill her by pulling a wire round her neck.

Desperate, she pleaded him not to tie her up and she will do anything he says…when she suddenly pounced on the door handle. The gun blasted, the bullet barely hitting her thigh. In the following split second, he mind worked frantically when she threw herself on Glatman, which caused the car door to open, sending them flying onto the road.

The next few seconds were the most horrifying moments she faced, and she bit her assailant as hard as she could. As Glatman winced in pain as he dropped his gun. Lorraine took this opportunity to grab the gun. She would have shot this murderer when Officer Thomas F. Mulligan of California Highway Patrol saw this during his duty session. He ordered them to stop, when they put up their hands, when Lorraine claimed that the man tried to rape and kill her.

Well, Now of course, you will be knowing what I admire in her. Her sharp wits and her quick thinking saved her from one of the greatest serial killers in the world history, and she was the one who made him get caught by the police. Glatman was classified as a serial killer who was responsible for murders of more than four girls, was also known as Glamour Girl Killer. None of his victims were able to do anything when he killed them. However, Lorraine had the guts to even attempt killing him. Well, we should not wish to be nude models like her, but certainly, her quick thinking and self defense teaches us that nothing is impossible…..

  2. One of the greatest serial killers in history? hummm...
The story is mainly true, but have some mistakes, not to talk about your english.
He killed 3 girls. Awful, but hardly one of the greatest serial killers in history. She didn´t take the gun from him, he quit fighting when he saw the police. And once he was convicted, the best he ever did. He told his lawyers not to appeal at all. That was meant to be his end.
In any case. Great girl, deserves high consideration, not just for saving her live, but for all those girls who were not killed thanks to her.
